Spool body

A spool body is part of a subsea oil and gas production tree. The component is part of the tree assembly that helps monitor and control the production of a subsea well, and can also manage fluids or gas injected into the well.

Its main function is to control flow from the wellbore. It also provides outlets to attach several different configurations of valves.

Long overhangs: turning-centres

To keep chips flying at a high rate, it is important to reduce vibration as much as possible. Silent Tools™ dampened boring bars minimize vibrations. In this way, a high metal removal rate is possible.

If possible, choose one larger Coromant Capto® size for highest stability.

Accessibility and chip control: turning-centres

CoroTurn® SL cutting heads available in four stages of offset up to 23 mm (0.906 inch) for good reach and largest possible boring bar diameter.

The nozzle technology of CoroTurn SL takes care of chip control. This way, number of unplanned production interruptions is minimized.

 

Tool change time: turning-centres

Long boring bars left in the turning center when they are not in use is a collision risk. Yet, taking the bar out of the machine usually takes time and hurts productivity.

With Coromant Capto® quick change clamping units tool change time is kept under one minute. It is an ideal solution for avoiding collisions and still keep the machine running.
