T-Max U-Lock Internal threading

T-Max U-Lock® is a complement to the CoroThread 266 rigid indexable insert threading system. It provides a specialized solution for 11 mm (0.433 inch) internal threading applications in three different geometries: all-round, sharp and a chip breaking C-Geometry.

Application

  • Internal threading
  • Minimum hole size: 12 mm (0.472 inch).
  • Insert geometries and grades for all materials apart from ISO H
  • The tool holder for inserts with size 11 is made for a 2° inclination angle and no shim

Recommendations

  • GC 1020 – Good all round PVD-coated grade suitable for ISO P, M, K, N & S materials. Good wear resistance and edge sharpness.
  • GC 4125 – Used as an optimizing PVD-coated grade for various steel threading operations.
Geometries 
  • Standard geometry, first choose in most operations
  • Sharp F-geometry, clean cuts in sticky or work hardening materials
  • Chip breaking geometry, for maximum chip control and minimum supervision
Tool holding 
  • Coromant Capto cutting units, size C3 and C4
  • Boring bar Ø 16 + step boring bar with reduced diameter 16 to 12 (Ø ⅝”, ⅝” reduced to ½”)
  • SL cutting heads coupling size Ø 16 and 20 mm.
