Power generation processes

The Nuclear power plant - type PWR (pressurized water reactor)

The picture shows the principle for the most common type of nuclear power plant (PWR).

Coal power plant - type IGCC (integrated gasification combined cycle)

The integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) coal plant uses a technology that turns coal into gas - synthetic gas (syngas). It then removes impurities from the coal gas before it is combusted. This results in lower emissions and improved efficiency, compared to conventional coal plants.
