CoroDrill® Delta-C
High security in aerospace and HRSA

CoroDrill Delta-C R846 for ISO S is dedicated to aerospace engine and industrial gas turbine applications to give secure drilling performance in thin-walled components.

A longer tool life and lower axial cutting forces ensure minimum deflection and burr formation from first to last hole on complex components.

Carbon fibre/titanium stacked materials

CoroDrill Delta-C R846 gives a secure drilling performance on carbon fibre and titanium stacked materials and shows benefits on thin-walled components. The geometry reduces burr formation and gives predictable tool life.

Safe and even wear at the cutting edge improves performance for longer production runs, where high machine security is a high priority. CoroDrill Delta-C R846 is standard stocked but is made even more flexible as it can be produced to specific applications through Tailor Made.

Improved performace
Safe and even wear from new design cutting edge improves performance for longer production runs, where high machine security is a high priority. This added reliability is essential for typical gas turbine engine casing production, where demand for a large number through holes is common.

Tough multi-layered PVD coating improves tool reliability features.
Positive tip geometry gives a more consistent curve to the cutting edge to distribute cutting forces evenly throughout the drill body.
Cutting action is improved, adding strength to the outer diameter corners where cutting forces are strongest in demanding applications.
Secure, continuous performance where repeated high hole tolerances are essential.
A deeper flute design on the drill body optimizes chip removal.
The tool operates free from obstruction to retain the closest tolerances and keep the component surface intact.
A more continuous, free cutting action is achieved to secure a high finished component quality.

Single layerMulti layer

The multi-layer coating offers greater tool reliability and a more continuous machining capability. A series of thin layers provides strong and effective protection to the substrate to give a longer, more secure drilling performace between tool changes.
Rigid stability throughout spindle and drill is provided by HydroGrip® High performance chucks – a higher level of security results from:

Strong clamping force
Reduced radial run out
High bending stiffness

These features have a positive effect on tool life and production security and are the foundation of a successful hole making operation.

The standard CoroDrill programme offers optimum efficiency for hole diameters 3–12 mm, at the range 3-5 x
D.
