In this case the customer used old tools (HSS) and strategies for machining of the component. Optimising the machine strategies and implementing high-tech products dramatically shortened the production time. Owing to its low power consumption, the new CoroMill 790 Al endmill contributed to an increased metal- removal rate. The choice of Coromant Capto gave a short and stable tool setup. Low cutting forces were achieved with CoroMill Plura endmills, in both roughing and finishing.
