Parting & Grooving
CoroCut MB - Correct clamping with EasyFix™

Good vibration is less vibration

Cylindrical bars are superior to bars with flats when it comes to clamping as the cylindrical bar and the combination with a sleeve leaves no room for movement and will decrease the risk of unwanted vibration. The main problem with cylindrical bars is usually to find the right position every time there will be a tool change. That’s not a problem when using EasyFix.
A springer plunger mounted in the sleeve “clicks” into a groove in the bar. You can clearly feel it. The solution gives a fast and simple way to adjust the centre height when mounting cylindrical bars into the machine.

Is there really a difference?
Let’s leave the time saving aspects for a moment, even if they are impressive, and concentrate on high precision. Our internal tests resulted in a spread of 0.02 with EasyFix versus 0.54 line to line (11˚ versus 5˚8” translated to rake angle). As you can see there’s quite a difference (more than 25 times better!) and there will of course be a radical increase of the last part quality. You may also be aware that the tests where performed by skilled operators with plenty of workshop experience. The variations are even worse when tool changes are performed by a new or inexperienced operator.

An EasyFix for everyone
EasyFix sleeves are available in different sizes and dimensions and also for different types of machines. The slot in the cylindrical sleeve is filled with a silicon sealer, which allows the existing coolant system to be used.
