The next generation of inventors, engineers, machinists and designers

It was a quite a week in Louisville, KY, as students from across the US brought their “A” game to the annual SkillsUSA competition.

According to Training and Development Manager, Rob Page, “SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It’s an honor to be a part of the success of the next generation of inventors, engineers, machinists and designers who will shape our future in the world of manufacturing and beyond. It’s truly inspiring to see the amount of effort by the participants to show their skills.”
Sandvik Coromant has been proud to partner with and sponsor SkillsUSA for some time now, shaping and supporting the CNC Turning, CNC Milling and Technicians competition.

During the week, over 140 students from 33 different states tested their skills in machining theory, program coding, process control and interviewing soft skills. Sandvik Coromant provided training materials, coaching, technical expertise and helped judge the competitions. Congratulations to the winners who are the “best of the best” in the US at the state and regional levels!
