CoroBore® 826

Fine boring tool with excellent chip control

Mounting of cartridge

  1. Fit cartridge to the elliptical interface placed on the cross slide at the fine boring head.
  2. Tighten cartridge screw to recommended torque. See handling instruction below to get the recommended tightening torque for the clamping screw.

Tool setting of diameter

  1. Mount insert.
  2. Set tool pre-setter to required diameter.
  3. Place tool in pre-setter.
  4. Rotate tool to obtain largest diameter on display.
  5. Unlock locking screw.
  6. Retract cartridge by turning dial anti-clockwise to facilitate setting from smaller to larger diameter.
  7. Set diameter by turning dial clockwise. To adjust the fine boring mechanism, see handling instruction below.
  8. Tighten locking screw to recommended torque, see handling instruction below.
  9. Check diameter and length of tool in the tool pre-setter. If possible, transfer tool data to machine control system.

  1. Unlock counter weight locking screw.
  2. Set the internal counterweight by adjusting screw (2a) until requested cutting diameter (nominal value) is aligned with the mark (2b) on top of the tool.
  3. Lock the counterweight with appropriate torque, 6 Nm (4.425 ft/lbs).

Mount the cartridge on the fine boring head with correct torque, 6 Nm (4.425 ft/lbs).

Assemble the fine boring head on adaptor.

Adjust the diameter by moving the fine boring head with the side screw until requested cutting diameter (nominal value) is aligned with the scale visible on adaptor.
  4. Tighten the fine boring head screws with correct torque, 14 Nm (10.236 ft/lbs).
  5. Fine adjust the diameter with the 826 scale.

Lock fine boring head with correct torque, 8 Nm (5.900 ft/lbs).
