These PVD-coated carbide grades are developed for machining aged nickel-based HRSA materials and cover a large application area within last stage machining (LSM) and intermediate stage machining (ISM). The grades feature the latest substrate and coating technologies, offering excellent flank and adhesive wear resistance, increasing tool life and productivity gains.
GC1205 and GC1210 are the most recently developed grades for machining aged nickel-based HRSA materials. With the latest technology of substrate and coatings, these grades have the ability to withstand wear, leading to high productivity gains for your aero-engine components.
S205 is a new chemical vapour deposition (CVD) grade developed for last stage machining applications in aerospace engine components within the area of HRSA turning.
S205 offers increased productivity through higher cutting speeds in semi-finishing and finishing applications without compromising on tolerances and surface conformity.
Our grade assortment for titanium and HRSAs includes CVD- and PVD-coated carbide grades, ceramic and cubic boric nitride (CBN) grades for various machining conditions. Use the information below to find the right grade for your production.

SiAlON based ceramic, designed to optimize performance in nickel base materials materials under relatively stable conditions and offers high security and predictable wear, due to high notch resistance.
PVD-coated carbide grade with good adhesion and flank wear resistance. The combination of hard substrate and coating allows significant increases in cutting speed.
SiAlON-based ceramic for optimized performance in pre-machined materials under stable conditions.
CVD-coated grade for high speed finishing in the cutting speed range between grade GC1205 and CBN grades.
Whisker-reinforced alumina-based ceramic with excellent bulk toughness designed for turning and grooving.
SiAlON-based ceramic, optimized for machining difficult surfaces in heat resistant super alloys. Offers excellent toughness and security in toughness-demanding operations.
PVD-coated carbide grade with good crater wear resistance. Complements grade GC1205 when more toughness is required.
Uncoated carbide grade that combines good abrasive wear resistance and toughness for medium to rough turning of titanium alloys.
