Silent Tools™ CoroMill® 390 cutters

Extra-long multi-operation end mills with integrated Silent Tools™ technology. All cutters have undersized shanks and useable lengths UL=6×DC.

  • Cutter diameters (DC): 20, 25 and 32 mm
  • Coarse pitch cutters with 390-11 inserts for full cut operations, and extra close pitch cutters with 390-07 inserts for high productivity in finishing
  • Choose between two different machine tool interfaces: Coromant Capto® C5 or C6, or cylindrical shank A20, A25, A32.
  • Application: long reach face milling, deep shoulder and side milling, cavity milling, slot milling

Silent Tools™ arbor milling adaptors

  • Cutter diameters: 40–125 mm (2.0–4.0 inch)
  • Coromant Capto® or HSK-A/C interfaces on the machine tool side and milling arbor interfaces on the workpiece side
  • Undersized cylindrical shanks where required for deep cavity reach with nominal diameter cutters. Nominal diameter cylindrical shanks on adaptors made for oversized diameter cutters
  • Application: assemblies for long reach face milling, deep shoulder and side milling, cavity milling, slot milling and profiling

Silent Tools™ milling adaptors for CoroMill® QD cutters

  • Cutter diameters: 80–315 mm (3.0–12.0 inch) with insert width 2–6 mm (0.079–0.250 inch)
  • Coromant Capto® C3–C8 interfaces on the machine tool side. Cylindrical shanks stretching forward to a metric or inch Coromant QD cutter interface
  • Application: for long reach internal or external groove milling or for slitting of tubes, casings and sleeves

Silent Tools™ milling adaptors for Coromant EH cutters with indexable inserts

  • Coromant Capto® C4–C8 interfaces on the machine tool side. Tapered shanks stretching forward to a Coromant EH16–25 cutter interface
  • Oversized cutters are required for side clearance along the tapered shank. 470 mm (18.5 inch) is maximum reach for the largest adaptor with a diameter 32 mm ball nose cutter
  • Application: profiling in dies and molds, impellers, Francis turbine blades, Pelton wheels
  • Not suitable for solid carbide cutters, since too heavy cutters lead to poor dynamic behavior

Recommendations

All Silent Tools damped adaptors are designed for different overhangs, and with differently tuned dampers. The best performance will be achieved by using the optimized length instead of adding extension adaptors. If there is a need for more than 7–8 x BD, ask for an engineered adaptor.
