Solutions for cost effective and high-quality machining of oil and gas valve body features

A valve regulates, directs or controls the flow of fluids or gases by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways.
Valves are widely used in the oil and gas industry for sea floor, land, on- and offshore applications. Valves are made in various sizes and materials.

Tooling solutions for machining of oil and gas valve body features
CoroMill® MS20 – pocket milling, face milling, full slotting, hole making (helical ramping)
- Use M-M20 geometry for excellent chip formation and evacuation in sticky materials
- M-M30 geometry offers higher security in tougher materials (duplex). Higher edge line toughness of the geometry allows the insert to be used with higher productivity (high cutting data) in stable operations
- Use E-L50 geometry for long overhang applications where a sharper and hence lighter cutting edge will help reduce vibrations
- Robust steel shank design ensures better stability and less deflection
- The two cutting edges have an equal tool life and the M-M20 geometry offers predictable and gradual wear characteristics, especially in austenitic stainless steel

CoroMill® 419
For roughing of solid material, use Helical interpolation with a high feed milling concept. CoroMill® 419 is a high-feed milling concept with five edges for roughing to semi-finishing. It offers excellent performance in many material groups and has great possibilities for optimization.

CoroBore® BR30
For semi-finishing of a cladded layer, perform semi-finish boring using our CoroBore® BR30 multi-edge solution. Highly productive multi-edge tool, available from three to eight cutting edges, for maximum metal removal rate. Short and rigid tool assembly provides high stability and rigidity.

CoroBore® 826 HP
For finishing of a cladded material, perform fine boring with our CoroBore® 826, single-edge boring solution. With the unique high precision coolant directed to the cutting edge, CoroBore® 826 HP ensures excellent chip control and chip evacuation. In combination with the stepwise scale setting of the tool, this is the most user-friendly and secure option for fine boring.

Silent Tools™ - Overcome vibrations when machining long overhangs
To keep chips flying at a high rate, it is important to reduce vibration as much as possible. Silent Tools™ dampened boring bars minimize vibrations. This enables a high metal removal rate.

CoroTurn® SL adapter interface
CoroTurn® SL is a modular system of adapters and cutting heads with which you can build customized tools for a variety of turning applications with a minimum amount of items. The robust coupling and many combination possibilities make it ideal for building a tool to machine complex components.
