What is power skiving?

 

Power skiving is a continuous cutting process that enables all machining to be carried out in a single setup. In essence, it is a combination of hobbing and shaping. The intersecting angle between tool and gear axis as well as the revolution speed contribute to productivity.

Another advantage of power skiving is its capability to machine close to shoulders, allowing greater freedom in component design.
