Recycling of sensorized tools
Electronics
Sensorized tools contain electronics and are therefore covered by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2012/19/EU), also known as the WEEE Directive, in the EU. The WEEE Directive aims to contribute to sustainable production and consumption.
Countries outside the EU may have their own legislation for waste electrical and electronic equipment. The rules and regulations differ depending on whether the electronic or electric equipment is for consumer or professional use, and can also vary from country to country.
Sandvik Coromant has signed up to recycling programs in countries where we have obligations. Use the links on the right to find the respective recycling program for each country and more information on how to recycle your Sandvik Coromant sensorized tools.

Other materials
Silent ToolsTM Plus turning adaptors contain a large amount of “strategic metals” such as tungsten [W] and cobalt [Co], in addition to other metals. It is recommended to recycle these high-value materials. The damping system (1) contains tungsten and the carbide bushings (2) contain tungsten and cobalt. For more information on removing the products, see the user manual for Silent ToolsTM Plus.

Warning!
Carbide bushings are fitted under high compression forces.
Cutting the adaptor body to remove the carbide bushings will release internal spring forces.
