Metal Cutting Technology goes LIVE

Our traditional Metal Cutting Technology class gets an update and is now a virtual class that uses virtual training techniques, interactive technology and live machine exercises – in real time. Complementing our self-paced online e-learning, get all the benefits of in-person training now in a virtual setting in the comfort and convenience of your office or home.

​In the ever-changing world of manufacturing, it’s important to keep your metal cutting skills up-to-date. Our free metal cutting training will help you learn or review the basics and stay current with the latest techniques and technology.

We are now offering our Metal Cutting Technology training as a convenient virtual live course. Complementing our self-paced online e-learning course, this course will give you all the added benefits of live, interactive training. We have previously offered this comprehensive training as a three-to-five day on-site course at Sandvik Coromant’s training Centers. In these times of restricted travel, you can now enjoy this same training from the comfort and convenience of your office or home.

The dates for our next course are listed below. The complete training consists of six 2-hour sessions, and you can choose either morning or afternoon sessions. Earn your certificate when you successfully complete the course.

Dates: (Morning sessions 10:00 – 12:00 ET. Afternoon sessions at 2:00 – 4:00 ET.)

Having the right tooling strategy has a huge impact on machining time and profitability.To develop the best strategy requires proper training in basic metal cutting principles. Our Metal Cutting Technology class builds a foundation in basic metal cutting theory and teaches participants how to apply it properly. Come to this training and leave with the ability to overcome critical process challenges and develop more efficient and profitable operations.

John Pusatera
Sr Training Specialist

John Pusatera has been a Sandvik Coromant employee since 2001 and Training Specialist since 2008.

John has had a long career in manufacturing beginning 1979. He has had many roles including 24 years in metal cutting sales. He has spent time helping customers optimize their processes through new technology. For the last 12 years John has been providing customized training for our customers in their facilities, as well as instructing training classes in our Sandvik Coromant Centers for both employees and customers. John is based out of the Sandvik Coromant Center in Schaumburg, IL.

Chuck Tate
Sr Training Specialist

Chuck has worked in the area of manufacturing science since 1973. His career in manufacturing began interfacing a control unit to a surface grinder for the manufacture of gear blanks. NC and CNC programming was a natural progression. Chuck has held the positions of Programmer, Programming Supervision, Engineering Manager, and Director of Manufacturing. Chuck joined Sandvik Coromant in 1996 as a Service Representative, then Sales Representative, and Senior Sales Representative for Rolls-Royce. In 2006, Chuck joined the Marketing Department as a Training Specialist based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Chuck has a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Business degree from Butler University, Indianapolis, IN.
